  This is a beautiful historic church. The pastor Msgr. Zach is very loving and outgoing. He cares very much for his church family. Everyone is always welcome. Please feel free to come worship with us!

  I am editing my review of Sacred Heart Catholic Church! I finally learned out how to get inside!!! I went to the Palestine Chamber of Commerce and asked the ladies there why the church was always locked up. They called the church office and spoke to someone who said to come on and they would let us in! We went quickly and found the office way around the back of the block. The receptionist was very friendly and unlocked the door and let us in. She gave us brochures explaining the history and who all the saints are in the stained glass windows. Very impressive. The rafters making up the ceiling are made of beautiful dark wood with carvings. The dome over the altar has a mural of Jesus ascending into heaven. It was repainted in 1947 and it is still beautiful. The organ is grand also. So if you want to see inside this beauty, go around the block and enter a parking lot and you'll see the office. It's worth the trip!
  I have been to Palestine over 10 times in the past 5 years. Everytime I come thru, I stop at the gorgeous Sacred Heart. The doors are always locked. I walked around and tried every door. I even rang the door bell at the rectory and no one answered. I saw an ad that says the doors of faith are always open. I guess that means come to mass and the door will be open. I just want to pray there and see the beautifull church on the inside. Any advice? It's usually around noon when I come thru Palestine.
